Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos opened the virtual doors of Amazon.com¡¦s online store in July 1995. Jeff Bezos was a computer science and electrical engineering graduate from Princeton University. Jeff Bezos was the youngest senior vice president in the history of D. E. Shaw, a Wall Street based investment bank. Jeff took notice of the rapid growing usage of the Internet and decided to leave his job at D.E. Shaw to sell products over the Internet. Jeff drew up a list of 20 possible products that could be sold on the Internet, and quickly narrowed the prospects to music and books.
