Ragoza’s article argues that female participation in sports is widely dependant on the social stigma associated to that particular sport, and that some sports are seen as “Male only” or “Female only” and as such is filled with stereotypes as opposed to what they love to do against what they are seen to have supposed to be doing.
The article touches on some suggestions of women playing what are seen as ‘male sports’ such as basketball or boxing, to be ‘non feminine’, ‘lesbian’ or ‘butch’
