Since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed, people in public places, especially the workplace, are protected from discrimination. Under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was formed to help implement the goals of the act. Although there are many clauses under the act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects citizens from sexual harassment.
