The book, “Were the Red Fern Grows,” was about a boy named Billy who really wanted some hunting hounds but they pretty expensive. This was a problem because Billy’s family was not very wealthy. Billy did not let that discourage him, Billy was determined to get those dogs. He worked hard and long for nearly two years to save up enough money to by his hounds. But that was just the beginning of Billy’s awesome adventure. He had the time of his life with those dogs. Sadly though both of Billy’s dogs died heroically at the end.
