When girls are little mainly between ages 4-6 they primary fall into 2 categories: the tomboys and the girly girls. I think I tend to notice it because I have 3 nieces and they all fell in to a specific category and then once they started going to school and meeting more people they evolve more after about 2nd grade. When walking in to my 6 yr old nieces' kindergarten classroom, it was easy to sum up the type of kids I was working with after spending time with them especially with the little girls.
