Based on what has been discussed in class, coach Dale is a good example of an excellent coach. Most coaches display combinations of both leadership styles. Coach Dale had things done according to his beliefs but he also delegated responsibility and acted in a friendly, personal manner. It’s not better to be authoritive or democratic, but you need to be the right leader at the right time. Great coaches usually have disciplined teams with clear and well-defined roles, rules, and responsibilities.
