Opression of women in Nursing and femminism
|
Nursing in society has primarily been considered over the years as “women’s work”, and therefore of little importance. The consequences that an understanding of oppression, and the feminist method, offers to the practice of nursing are placing nurses in an ideal position for instigating a change forward, and, a re-evaluating of women’s work, caring, ethics, and on going knowledge. In this paper I will discuss the effects that oppression has had on women in nursing.
