In a pole conducted by the American Meat Institute and National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, an overwhelming 61 percent of Americans said that they prefer hamburgers over hot dogs. Of the remaining polled, 14 percent agreed that hot dogs were their meat of choice between the two summertime favorites, while 19 percent stated they craved both hamburgers and hot dogs equally.
