1. What are the main purposes of the tax cuts? Republican: The proposed tax cuts on the Bush side are aimed at boosting the amount of revenue for all economic sectors of the general public. Bush and the republicans are planning to influx $674 billion dollars into the economy to increase consumer spending and capital investments that will hopefully jumpstart our economic machine. Bush’s plan will give the average person a $1,083 tax cut worth of revenue to spend. A low-income family of four making 40,000 a year could be virtually eliminated from taxes under this plan. Under this tax cut plan Bush is hoping to increase the GDP as much as at least half a percentage point in 2003 and a full percentage point growth in 2004. Bush is targe
