My personal belief is that the advent of New Deal, a compulsory scheme impacting over 250,000 young people in its first year, is the most significant government intervention in the lives of young people since the abolition of national service. Given the massive amount of funding, and its position as a key component of its manifesto, and flagship policy of this government, New Deal is here to stay. With the magnitude and diversity of impact, practitioners in all areas that work with Young People will require knowledge of the scheme and its effects.
