Dr. Martin Luther King was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a very well known and respected man. We honor him all over the world. The following is his life.
King was an U.S. civil rights leader; he became an adherent of nonviolence and hatred. Martin Luther King became a minister in 1954 and later became a pastor in church in Montgomery Alabama. Martin received his doctorate in 1955. He was selected to head the Montgomery Improvement Association. His efforts soon ended the city’s public transportation laws and policies.
In 1957 he formed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and began lecturing worldwide, urging nonviolence to achieve civil rights for blacks. In 1960, he returned to Atlanta to become a CO-pastor with his father
