Works of literature that appeals to the audience through its great use of reality is very good in my eyes. Down These Mean Streets is a book with great moral significance and character. It expresses the day-to-day life style of Piri Thomas and the trails and tribulations he experienced. This book is highly recommended because it travels through the period of the Great Depression and how reality was for minorities.
In the novel, Piri Thomas expressed all his feelings and hardships through the vivid words he used. By reading the novel, the reader can sense the type of soul Mr. Thomas situated into the novel and by that he made the book so much better to read and understand. His life of crime and poverty helped us see how to live life and
