1. I believe that the Chicanos got the strength to strike because they saw that the sit-in's and all the fighting in the South was working. There are more similarities because of this, than there are differences. Starting just by the goals, they had the exact same ones. They all wanted basically what the consitution demands, equal rights under the law. Education of both these groups' children was also very low. The government made it hard for the children to go to school, because they realized that by having the children go to school, they can start thinking for themselves, and also making "alliances".
