Soldier’s Home by Ernest Hemingway is a story about a young man’s life after returning home from the war. Hemingway creates a character, Harold Krebs, and leads him a life that is suppressed after returning home in the summer of 1919. From studying Hemingway in the past, Krebs, the main character in the story leads a life similar to Ernest Hemingway himself. A life that included depression, and parents that worried about Hemingway’s future. This story is a look into the psychological and emotional impact of a soldier returning home from the war, but it very well as seems Hemingway also wanted to tell his life through Harold Krebs.
