Iraq is a deserted area surrounded by other countries. To the east is Iran, to the north is, on the west is Syria and Jordan, and to the south is Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It is twice the size of Idaho. The country has arid desert land west of the Euphrates, a broad central valley between Euphrates and Tigris, and mountains in the northeast. Iraq is a one-party republic. To better understand why Iraq’s population was, and how it is today, is to better understand their past. So many different types of turmoil and depression has affected them and had obvious changes to the population. One thing that does stick out though, is that 60% of their population today is children.
