In Machiavelli’s The Prince, he argues how to effectively govern a principality. I would argue that at the time of writing The Prince, he is offering an honest and sincere methodology for governing people and states that have come under the rule of the new Medici Prince. We must take into account the circumstances under which his recommendations were written, and the objective he wished to accomplish.
