Dizzy Gillespie was burn October 21, 1917 as Hogan Birks Gillespie in Cheraw, South Carolina, in a family of nine children. He was an African-American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, singer, and composer. Along with Charlie Parker, Dizzy was a major developer of Bebop and Modern Jazz.
