Throughout this novel nature and natural imagery helps define the emotional states of the characters. Even when Frankenstein is a young boy he relates his emotions to nature. When he is in trouble the most, he shuns humanity and seeks nature for help and relaxation. After creating this monster, Victor acts abnormally makes one wonder who is really the monster. The monster cannot really comprehend what a life full of poverty and turmoil really is. He uses nature to relate his feelings with life around him.
