After nearly half a century of unrest and political struggle Italy was proclaimed a new state in 1861. This new development was often violent and brought with it new political and cultural identities which were formed under economic, technological and social changes. At the start of the 20th century new Italy was still in its infancy, the economy was growing and a strong sense of nationalism had developed. With in this volatile surrounding “Futurism” became a strong movement with the country as well as the rest of Europe. It quickly adapted itself to technological changes around the world.
