Throughout the course of time, human sexuality and romantic love is a conflict in a relationship between males and females. Irwin Shaw wrote a short story that deals with this conflict in “The Girls in Their Summer Dresses”. The story is about Michael who every time goes outside has to check a girl out. His wife Frances becomes agitated and Michael’s fantasies become a factor in their relationship. In a relationship in which sex becomes a factor of conflict, that relationship will be very rocky.
