Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor who discovered the rotating magnetic field, the basis of most of today’s alternating-current machinery. He was born in Smilgan, Croatia on July 10, 1856. His father was an Orthodox priest and though his mother was not traditionally schooled she was very smart (http://www.neuronet.pitt.edu/~bogdan/tesla/).
