Capital punishment is a verdict rendered for brutal acts of crimes to society. In the book, Capital Punishment, Mary E. Williams comments that if communities are held together by an agreement of what unethical behavior consists of, then those who corrupt the moral order must be punished to restore proper balance in society (34).
