The story “Young Goodman Brown” is an allegory. It is a story of symbolic fictional figures and actions of truths or generalizations about human existence. Goodman Brown is a “Faith” filled man who is tempted by the Devil and in the end left “Faithless“ and alone. Symbolism is present throughout the book, from the characters names, to the setting, to the people in the woods. Each having a certain significance. The moral of this short story would be faith all together.
