Throughout China's history as a society, the Chinese citizens have been ruled by strict laws and traditions used to govern their lives and establish civil obedience. Initially the laws very informal and often implemented as the authorities saw fit. The Chinese government has maintained an aggressive nature in regards to implementing this control.
