Dwight D. Eisenhower was born October 18, 1890 he lived In the small town of Abilence, Kansas until 1910 when he formed a close friendship with Everett E. Hazlett who received an Invitation to the US Naval Academy. Everett wanted Eisenhower to go with him, the rule stated that an entering cadet had to be younger then age twenty. Therefore, Eisenhower took a test for the US Military Academy at West Point instead and headed east toward New York when he was accepted. At West Point, life was hard. They had the harshest and toughest training around in those days and most men dropped out, but Eisenhower stuck through it, eventually becoming a great general and a respectful President.
