I entered into a life of vegetarianism three years ago. I made this decision while on a Spring Break trip with friends. Walking up and down the pier, looking at the tragic and gruesome loss of life, I decided once and for all to become a herbivore. The first two weeks were very difficult for me as I was so tempted to have a hamburger or filet, just because I knew I could not have it. In order to suppress my meat-filled desires, I started to do some research on the subject to find out why I did not want to eat animals. I knew I did not agree with killing animals, but knowing exactly how slaughterhouses performed duties would make me reject the carnivorous lifestyle forever.
