It all started when God promised the Jews Israel. From then on, it soon was conquered by the Palestinians who then ruled it for 1500 years. Then, after World War II, the Jews who survived the Holocaust were given Israel. The Palestinians did not enjoy the fact that Jerusalem was taken from them, so, at the first chance they had, they tried to take it back, but failed. Even to this day, the Palestinians and Israel are still in conflict.
