Hamlet is the story of young Prince Hamlet, who meets the ghost of his recently deceased father. After learning that his father, the King is murdered he swears revenge. The play tells how Hamlet, after much indecision and delay, gets his revenge but in the process meets his own untimely end. Many different explanations have been advanced for Hamlet’s motivations and behavior, including his reasons for his hesitation to strike at his Uncle. The prince’s character is discovered as being indecisive, feigning madness and so unsure of his revenge, he makes excuses for putting off killing his Uncle.
