Caverns Measureless to man is essentially a diary of some of Sheck Exleys’ diving experiences, from his introduction to the pursuit as a boy, through to 1989 – five years before his death during a dive in Mexico.
Although I’ve chosen to call this book a “diary”, the book is far from a boring, passionless account of the author’s experiences. In fact the reader is taken through the scientific problems of free descents and extraordinary depths, and also shares some of Exley’s very own near fatal experiences, and the near fatal incidents, and ultimately deaths of diving partners.
