Of Mice and Men

In the novel, Of Mice And Men, written by John Steinbeck. There is a main character in the story is a mentally retarded guy named Lennie. In this novel Lennie leaves “the garden” and wanders alone in “the wilderness”. In the novel Lennie ventures off with his friend George. George is a very innocence person for the simple fact that he is retarded. He is child like because he does not quite grasp the concept of what is right and wrong. George indeed leads Lennie out into the wilderness or nature as it is called and in the end he abandons him only to die. Lennie’s venture into the wilderness fails because of his mental disability, his lack of knowledge of his strength and environment, and him not having the correct grown up figure.
