Believe it or not approximately 100 earthquakes occur everyday. This might seem hard to believe since most people associate the word earthquake with total destruction and chaos. In fact, only a very few of the many earthquakes that we experience are deadly. Most of the time they are not strong enough to be felt by people, but certain detectors and gadgets are made to keep track of even the smallest quake. All this data is needed to help scientist further understand earthquakes and help us predict them. The key to answering questions about earthquake is to understand why they happen and where they happen.
