Betsy Ross was born January 1, 1752 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Betsy was a normal school girl who would come to be one of the most famous women ever in the United States history. Betsy is known for making the first American flag, after a visit in June 1776 by George Washington, Robert Morris, and her husband's uncle, George Ross. She agreed with the men and sewed the first American flag. Although, historians are not sure who designed or created the flag’s style, they do know that it was Mrs. Ross who fashioned the actual flag.
