According to Merriam Webster the word mean is stated as being characterized by petty selfishness or malice. Over the years television programs are becoming unkind. In the beginning there was “Leave it to Beaver” you have nice naive wholesome family show, and these days we have “The Mole”, “Survivor”, and “Dog Eat Dog” where people are supposed to go against one another; where are the family values in these shows? Are programs on the air going to become more uncivilized, are future generations doomed? Meanness on television was stared by the good old, Carroll O’ Connor, a member of the cast “All in the Family”. O’ Connor played the part of, Archie Bunker, a bigot who was very racist.
