An English mathematician and physicist, Issac Newton, was born on January 4, 1643 at Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, but was sent live with his grandmother at age 3. He went to grammar school in Grantham, and in 1661, he went to Trinity College, at the University of Cambridge. In 1665, he finished his bachelor¡¯s degree and in 1667, he was given a fellowship at Trinity. By 1668, he had received his master¡¯s degree and began studying independently mathematics and new natural philosophy. Also, he was appointed Luscasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge in 1669.
