To start off this book review, I’d like to say that I found the Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden world of Islamic Women to be heavily bias. The first major problem I found in the book came from its title, the Hidden World of Islamic Women. In her book Geraldine Brooks discusses the trials and tribulations of several Islamic women in various Middle Eastern countries, but fails to mention the fact that the majority of Islamic women live outside the Middle East, where they have the same legal rights as males.
