The Gospel of Luke tells us how Jesus spent his life helping those who are in need. These acts were performed from the kindness of his heart. Jesus helped those who were considered “poor.” As Jesus continues to “produce good fruit,” or respond to the needs of the suffering, he is teaching us at same time what is morally correct. According to Luke, if one were to have sickness, the people of Israel would view you as a sinner. The people of Israel believed that God was “punishing” you for your sins. The poor people were treated as if they did not even exist. These “poor” people are the ones who Jesus believes are in need of help and Jesus shows us how he brigs justice to these people.
