President John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said, “ A child miseducated is a child lost.” What he meant by that was a child that is taught incorrectly will struggle later in life. After observing what was going on with segregation at the time, he wanted people to respect all races.
In the poem “Ex-Basketball Player” by John Updike, Flick Webb is an example of a miseducated child. Flick was an outstanding basketball player. “He was good, in fact the best.” He was so good that all of his teachers passed him without him having to do any of the work.
