Acid rain most often damages plants by washing away nutrients and by poisoning the plants with toxic materials. It can, however, have direct effects on plant as well. In this experiment I will observe on of the direct effects of acid water on plant growth. I put four plants in jars of water. Two of the plants were philodendron plants, and the others two were coleus. I took the plants and put one of each in to acidic water. Then I took the other two and put them into distilled water. I found out that the plants in the acidic water began to lose their color and also began to deteriorate after a couple of weeks.
