In the Elizabethan tragedy Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare is able to depict the exact feelings and surroundings of a scene using his ability to paint pictures through his word usage. He also utilizes the devices of figures of speech and sound patterns to further enhance the image presented. Shakespeare’s mastery of such devices, along with his eloquent style of writing, make for interesting and detailed accounts throughout Hamlet.
