If a picture tells a thousand words, than imagine the significance of an image upon a play as brief as Macbeth. In any literary work, we find it extremely important that the author can effectively manipulate a reader’s feelings towards a character. Shakespeare magnificently accomplishes that feat in Macbeth. Through his adamant use of imagery, Shakespeare shows us a deeper look into the true character of Macbeth. Though imagery is widespread throughout Macbeth, we find most dominant through the use of dramatic animal symbolism accompanied by darkness imagery.
