Johnson and Sammy

The stories Like a Winding Street and U & P both focus on how they treat and view women. However, the way it is shown is different from each other. Their intentions in both stories are good, but the way they approach this is different. Johnson treats women with all respect no matter how wrong they may seem. His attitude towards them shows that he has an understanding character. For example, in the story, Johnson’s boss complains, “niggers is the worse. I don’t care what’s wrong with your legs.
