In Act Two Scene One, one can see how the tragic sequences of events in this play are affecting the minor characters. Hamlet’s father dies and Claudius, Hamlet’s uncle becomes king. A ghostly apparition of Hamlet’s father appears and tells Hamlet that Claudius murdered his father. Hamlet then conceived a plan that he will act insane in order to get close to his uncle.
