Is surfing simply a sport or is there something more to it? Beyond the competitive aspects of Professional Surfing, some find there is an attraction to surfing that is virtually incomprehensible. For many, surfing is a way of life. Most will tell you they were addicted the very first time they caught a wave.
So what is this attraction? Is it the emerald water, marmalade sunshine, and fresh ocean air? Is it the strenuous exercise or the thrill of riding a wave? The talk in the lineup with friends? It’s really a combination of all of these elements but even more surfing has an undeniable aura of mysticism. At its core, it is an active meditation coupled with excitement, exercise, and exhilarating joy. It is almost ecstasy to some.
