1.) Rayford Steele is a main character in the book Left Behind written by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Rayford goes from an analytical professional to very lucid and earnest. Rayford is about a forty-year old man who pilots 747's for the Pan-Continental Airline group. At the beginning of the story, he is interested in his senior flight attendant, Hattie Durham; she is a twenty-six year old 'baby doll,' as Rayford put it. Because Rayford's wife, Irene, had become a religious fanatic, Rayford became interested in Hattie physically. His attitude changes after the disappearances.
