arousing pity and fear. One such play is Oedipus, a story written by
Sophacles. Oedipus has all of the qualities of a perfect tragedy;
position, an inevitable prophecy, character flaw , a catastrophe, and a
hero's recognition of his or her flaw, and a reversal in the character's
way of life.
