Johnny Allen Hendrix Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942 in Seattle. When he was born his name was Johnny Allen Hendrix. His father later changed his name to James Marshall Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix, around music most of his life, he had a huge passion for it. He got his first instrument at the age of fifteen, after the death of his mother. I think that Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitarists ever to pick up the instrument. Not long after Jimi started to learn the guitar, more and more people saw how excellent he played. He developed in music very quickly. At some point in his life he made the move to Nashville, there he played backup for Little Richard, B.B King and many others.
