The subject I have chosen for this paper is the impact of sports stadiums on a cities economy. It seems that every time you look at sports news, there are professional sports teams wanting to build a new stadium. Sometimes a new stadium is actually in need, and sometimes the owners just want to keep up with the rest of their respective leagues, but every time they are asking for help from the taxpayers. To lure taxpayers into to building these new stadiums they often times say that the new stadiums will spur overall city growth in economy, whether it be through bringing more building to the city, more jobs, or a more attractive downtown area. How do the taxpayers actually know if this is true, that it is a good investment, after all
