Outer-race relationships can cause problems because some people cannot let go of racism. Of course not all outer-race relationships turn out bad, but the majority of them do. If people could let go of racism, then this type of relationships would be the same as inter-race relationships. In the book, Soul on Ice, Eldridge Cleaver shows the sides of outer-race relationships, as well as his own personal experiences with women. He also shows his view of the white man’s world and how blacks have progressed.
