Do you know where the world gets its energy? The world gets its direct energy supply from a few sources. The primary sources are the fossil fuels; petroleum, coal, and natural gas. Most of the enormous energy that the earth receives from the sun is not used by humans directly. We do benefit from the sun’s natural heating of the earth, but we could gain much more. The potential for additional benefits from the sun’s energy is almost unlimited (World Book, 472). Scientists estimate that the sun will continue to exist for billions of years and will produce almost boundless energy, so we should take a good look at its potential.
