Macbeth - Act 1 Scene 5

In this scene, we are introduced to Lady Macbeth. The scene opens up with her reading a letter from Macbeth. In the letter, Macbeth writes about how the three witches predicted that he would be the next King of Scotland. Lady Macbeth gets excited by this thought, and she immediately sets her mind to see to it that Macbeth murders Duncan, the King. Duncan is going to come to spend the night at Macbeth’s castle, and Lady Macbeth sees this as the perfect opportunity for Macbeth to murder him. This scene introduces what a stormy character Lady Macbeth is. Once reading the letter, she is sure that her husband will become the next king, and even takes matters into her own hands.
